Theatre School 2008 Spring Class Schedule
Monday Classes
Creative Play

Children will explore role-playing and world of makebelieve by using theatre games and improvisation techniques that will enhance their natural creativity and foster positive self-expression. The course will culminate in a final performance.

Acting for Young Actors

Whether an aspiring actor or just looking for fun, this class will entertain. Students will advance their skills through improvisation, movement, voice, character, story creation, and much more. This class will culminate in a final performance of a scripted play.

Tuesday Classes
FUNdamentals of Acting

Let the drama begin, from tongue twisters to putting on a play! Students will learn the basics of acting, focusing on vocal clarity, movement techniques, stage presence, and improvisation. The course will culminate in a final performance.

Acting For Stage And Film

This class is for anyone wishing to pursue a professional career or just for fun. Students will learn techniques that explore the subtle differences between stage and film acting by utilizing scripts from published plays, commercial and/or episodic TV. Students will create a short-film and perform in a one-act play to be presented at the end of the course.

Wednesday Classes
Musical Theatre I

Broadway Bound or just looking to sing your heart out, this class will do the trick! Students will learn vocal, dance, and acting techniques for being in a musical. The course will culminate in a production of a published children’s musical.

YOGA: Art In Motion©

Participants will learn the basics of yoga positions focusing on how to open their hearts to their classmates through trust, faith, physical connection, loss of inhibitions and the ability to live in the moment that the flow of motion and static retention of the poses together provide.

Thursday Classes
StageCraft Basics

This course is designed for those students yearning to take part behind the scenes. Using different artistic mediums participants will learn how to design simple sets, props and costumes that will be featured on stage during the final performances of the other classes.

Musical Theatre II

Students will advance their acting, singing, and dancing abilities by learning the essentials of performance through participation in a musical production.
