Algonquin Arts to Host a Free Pre-Audition Workshop for RENT in Collaboration with NJYT and NJPAC

Manasquan, NJ - Algonquin Arts will continue its tradition of offering a musical production this summer that will feature local and regional talent. This year's selection is Rent directed and produced by New Jersey Youth Theatre in collaboration with NJPAC and Algonquin Arts, the presenters of the production. Auditions for Rent will be held on Saturday, April 3rd at 1 pm on the Algonquin stage or Saturday, April 10th at 1 pm in the Victoria Lobby at NJPAC, 1 Center Street in Newark.

To better prepare individuals who intend to audition, the director of the performance, Cynthia Meryl, will be hosting a pre-audition workshop on Saturday, February 27th from 1 pm to 3 pm at Algonquin Arts, 173 Main Street in Manasquan. This workshop is free and space is limited to thirty students interested in auditioning for Rent, which will be performed the summer of 2010.

Anyone attending the workshop or initial audition must be between the ages of 16-23 and must prepare a song from the show. A pianist will be provided at the workshop auditions.
