Shore Senior Idol is a fun, motivational experience for today's active adults. Many participants have never performed before a live audience. Finalist were selected from three auditions held in late May and early June across Monmouth and Ocean counties. To be eligible, contestants must be at least 55 years old and cannot be professional performers/musicians.

This contest, now in its fifth year, is a ground breaking event for New Jersey, specifically the Jersey Shore. Similar contests have been held in Pennsylvania and Florida, however, the Shore Senior Idol Contest is the first and longest-running event in New Jersey.
