Manasquan, NJ - Saffire, The Uppity Blues Women bid farewell to nearly twenty years of success as a sassy acoustic blues trio. Their farewell tour, showcasing their last album Havin' The Last Word, will make a stop at Algonquin Arts Theatre in Manasquan, NJ on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 8 pm.

The group includes vocalist/guitarist/harmonicist Gaye Adegbalola, pianist/guitarist/vocalist Ann Rabson, and fiddlist/mandolinist/acoustic bassist/guitarist/vocalist Andra Faye. The trio has performed at Algonquin Arts before, attracting sell-out crowds. However, this will be the last chance to see them perform as a group in the entire state of New Jersey.

Ron Weinstock of the Jazz and Blues Report states, ". . . while the musical partnership of Saffire - the Uppity Blues Women may be ending, their musical legacy is firmly established and will be enjoyed for many more years just as each of the members will establish more of their own legacy with their solo careers. Like Jim Brown leaving professional football, "Havin' the Last Word" has Saffire ending their run while still performing at the highest level."

Tickets to this performance are $30 for adults, $28 for seniors, and $20 for students/children. Group rates are also available. To reserve seats or obtain more information, contact the box office at 732-528-9211 or boxoffice@algonquinarts.org. More information can also be accessed at www.algonquinarts.org. Box office hours are Monday-Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. Algonquin Arts is located at 173 Main Street in downtown Manasquan, NJ.
