About ALLEGRO!
ALLEGRO! has quickly become one of New Jersey’s most popular choral groups, helping Algonquin Arts to expand its mission to bring the pleasures and powers of the performing
arts to a diverse Jersey Shore audience. Established in 2004, ALLEGRO!, under the direction of conductor Marcello Velame, the 30-member chorus draws vocalists from
Monmouth and Ocean counties.
For the past four years, ALLEGRO! has presented two concerts a year; one during the winter holiday season and one in the spring. This year, the Chorus will be performing
an additional concert at the College of St. Elizabeth. ALLEGRO! is also planning to expand its performance schedule to include even more venues over the
next year.
Rehearsals for the Chorus are held in Manasquan. Auditions will be held at mutually agreeable times at the First Presbyterian Church, located at South Street and
Virginia Avenue, in Manasquan.
